Each season, the avocado tree quietly produces its distinctive pear-shaped fruit, protecting a vibrant green flesh surrounding a single large seed. Hidden within that fruit is one of nature's most nourishing botanical oils—an ingredient valued for generations for its richness and versatility.

Meet the Avocado Tree

The avocado tree (Persea americana) is an evergreen native to Central America and southern Mexico. Growing between 30 and 60 feet tall, it develops a dense canopy of glossy green leaves that provide welcome shade throughout the year.

In spring, thousands of tiny greenish-yellow blossoms cover its branches. Although only a small percentage of those blossoms become fruit, each avocado develops slowly over many months before reaching maturity.

Unlike many fruits that ripen while still attached to the tree, avocados mature on the tree but soften only after they are harvested. This remarkable characteristic allows growers to harvest them at just the right moment while preserving their quality.

From the Avocado Tree to the Workshop

Once harvested, the flesh of ripe avocados is carefully separated from the skin and seed before the oil is extracted. Gentle processing helps preserve the botanical qualities that make avocado oil such a respected foundation ingredient.

In our workshop, avocado oil joins other carefully selected botanical oils and butters to create formulations inspired by nature. Its naturally rich character allows it to work in harmony with herbs, clays, botanicals, and essential oils without overwhelming the ingredients around it.
